Residents Rights to Know: Tools for You

In 2017 Miami Beach United collaborated with the City to create an ordinance called Residents Right to Know, focused on improving communication between City Hall and Miami Beach residents, supporting increased transparency, and facilitating resident participation in City government’s decision-making process.

Passed in July 2017, the ordinance was crafted with the specific goals of providing residents of Miami Beach:

  • Ways to receive information on any City initiatives or projects impacting their community.
  • Ways to participate in City processes which impact resident quality of life.
  • Ways to provide feedback to City management and elected officials.
  • Assurance that City staff and elected officials will consider the rights and needs of residents as primary.
