RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY MANAGER, PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF A HIGH-END BEACH ESTABLISHMENT

R2-A  Sponsored by Facilities & Fleet Management/Procurement

MBU RESOLUTION:

Miami Beach United (MBU) requests that this item be deferred until the regularly scheduled October Commission meeting. The procurement process required that all bids be sealed until the City Manager issued a recommendation, which occurred on September 20th. With a commission meeting just a week later, and Yom Kippur in the interim, there simply is not enough time for residents and there simply is not enough time for neighborhood associations to review and comment on the bid proposals before a Commission vote. Doing this at a special meeting in just a few days appears rushed and is counter to an open and transparent process consistent with Residents Right to Know and resident right to be heard at the regular meeting.
